Montgomery

The rich history of Montgomery goes back to 1856 when an influx of Czech, German and Irish imiigrants settled in the area known as the “Big Woods.” Czech immigrants predominated in Montgomery Township.

Tradition and heritage are carried on every day in Montgomery. The Czech language can be heard around town over a cup of coffee or a card game. Arts and crafts can be found in the local shops and Czech cuisine is often served during local events.

Those early settlers left behind a rich legacy of proud ethnic heritage, hard work, perseverance, a strong code of ethics, and a will to progress, which is still carried on today.
